Beautiful pics of Tamara Day and Sarah Stiles feet & legs
I spent months working 12 hours sanding floors, and tear down wallpaper one child strapped on my back, and others playing into the playpen. Ha! It was all starting to take shape, however there was still a long way to go. To furnish the home would be a huge effort in terms of time and money. It was also going to be a challenge to go out and shop for my most-loved items. To keep the budget in check, I began going to estate sales with three brothers to search for gems hidden in the dirt. Every week, we would walk through estate sales and garage sales on Thursdays and Saturdays buying a mixture of new and old pieces. I then spent working on my projects on our front lawn. It looked a bit similar to this... Here is where my love for restoring antique furniture started. The issue was not whether our house had already been equipped. I had an area at the market where I sold things. In the end, I had lots of pieces, I didn't know what to do and I outgrew my space. In my own home, I started hosting open houses in which more than 1000 guests could visit and buy any item they wanted from the first floor over the course of a weekend. Growing Days is the result of this. As my business flourished as did our family. It was like I had found the perfect equilibrium between motherhood and launching my company. Growing Days fit perfectly. In 2013, my daughter Nora was our fourth baby. Although I was happy about the direction my company was taking, I realized that I needed to take an occasional break. I took a break from creating vintage furniture and I slowed down my speed to be at home to take care of the kids. That was exactly what I was looking for at the time. After a few months that the phones started to be ringing. I was getting messages from individuals asking for help in home improvement and interior design. The majority of people who contacted me came from people who came to my house at one of my furniture open house events. After a while I began to take on customers in my own way. Before long I had numerous accounts as well as a home remodeling business. If you had predicted that this venture of mine would turn into the premise of a tv show that airs on the DIY Network I probably would have been astonished. When I look at it, it has made me giggle.
